It was launched in 2015 by the founder of the Discovery Channel, John S. Hendricks. Available to approximately 23 million paying subscribers across 175 countries, the company operates the flagship Curiosity Stream SVOD service; Curiosity Channel, the linear television channel available via global distribution partners; and Curiosity Studios, which oversees original programming.
